MacBook Air can change design this year

The new ultra-thin notebook version will be made thinner and longer by Apple thanks to the Intel Core i 4th generation processor, code-named Haswell.

The first rumors about the MacBook Air alluded to hardware changes but also showed some external changes, Cnet said. However, these changes may not be significant because the source from Digitimes also said that the industrial design of the product will not have big changes in 2013.

Apple introduced the new generation MacBook Air in 2012 and kept the exterior design throughout. Therefore, this is considered the right time to offer some changes to compete with the generation of ultrabook recently developed.

The new report does not cover the screen issue, but this is the part Apple has focused on upgrading to the most products recently. Both the iPad, iPhone and MacBook Pro already have Retina-standard monitors and ultra-thin screen edges.

Meanwhile, the new MacBook Air will almost certainly upgrade the 4th generation Intel Core processor with code name Haswell. The chip is expected to be released at the upcoming CES 2013 show in January and is expected to appear in new MacBook Air models around the middle of this year.

Haswell chips are more energy efficient, so Apple can therefore design thinner machines with longer batteries. In addition, Intel is also expected to include a graphics processor chip that is considered to be much more powerful than previous chips.
