11.6-inch Macbook Air released

True to previous predictions, last night Apple officially unveiled the second generation of the cult Macbook Air. The new generation will own two screen sizes of 11.6 inches, maximum resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and 13.3 inches of maximum resolution of 1,440 x 900 pixels.

The most prominent feature of the two new models from Apple is the nearly instant start-up, up to 30 days standby time, light slim design with a typical unibody design. According to Apple, the 13.3-inch version can be used to surf the web continuously for 7 hours and 5 hours for the 11.6-inch model.

Both new models will use the Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Speed ​​1.3 or 1.4 GHz in 11.6 inches and 1.86 or 2.13 GHz in 13.3 inch version. RAM of both machines is 2GB DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics card.

Apple does not have an optical drive and does not use a normal hard drive for storage. Instead, models include flash storage drives with 64, 128 GB in 11.6-inch versions and 128 and 256GB in 13.3-inch versions.

The design of the Macbook Air is quite a lot of changes compared to the old version unibody style and gradually thinning to the front edge. Both machines are thin at the thinnest point of 0.3 cm and the thickest is 1.7 cm. The 11.6-inch model weighs only 1.06 kg, while the 13.3-inch model will weigh 1.32 kg.

The new Macbook Air is equipped with connectivity ports such as 2 USB ports on both sides, mini DisplayPort port, charging MagSafe, headphone jack and microphone combination. The 13.3-inch version will have an SD memory card slot.
