A few months ago there was a rumor that Intel will release a special version of the Core i7-8086K processor to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 8086 processor.

The 8086 chip was first launched on June 8, 1978. Recently, some retailers posted online advertisements about these special processors with 4Ghz and 5GHz speeds. VideoCardz is the one who discovered retailers to bring i7-8086K products to their product list. Although the Merlion has been deleted this product, the Connection.com page still lists products and has been down recently. The Connection.com page showing this CPU number is BX80684I78086K .

The 5GHz version is priced at $ 489.83 on Connection.com, about $ 140 higher than the Intel Core i7-8700K chip. Of course, the above price cannot be sure because even the existence of this chip is real or not has not been confirmed.

This is another sign that this particular version of the chip may be true. According to information from retailers, the i708700 chip has a basic speed of 3.7Ghz and can be overclocked up to 4.7Ghz. Rumors also said that the Core i7-8086K chip will be a 6-core processor (12 streams) with TDP and 95W.

It is not clear when these new processors will be launched. According to VideoCardz's image, users will probably order from June 8 and the goods will be delivered from 12/6 this year. If so, this will be the second release release after Pentium G3258 that marks 20 years since the first Pentium chip was born.

Here are a few parameters about this processor.
