Chromebooks are 'cloud computing' laptops that use Google's Chrome operating system. This platform is built on Linux but only runs applications on the Chrome browser.

When Google released two second-generation Chrome products, including a $ 550 Samsung Series 5 550 Chromebook and a $ 330 Series 3 Chromebox in May, it aimed to change the way people use computers. It is only running the application and does not need to be installed on the computer, all operations are browser-based and online.

If the Series 5 550 Chromebook was inspired by the MacBook Pro, then the new Chromebook followed the style of the MacBook Air.

Chromebook is the official name of this product, made by Samsung, and uses the ARM processor to be thinner, lighter and cheaper than $ 200 compared to the early version.

The $ 249 Chromebook has an 11.6-inch screen, smaller than the previous version, but has a higher resolution - 1366x768 pixels. It weighs less than 1.1kg and is nearly 2cm thick. The keyboard and touchpad design is similar to the previous version.

Chromebooks use dual-core Samsung Exynos 5 Dual processor based on ARM Cortex A15 architecture.

Like previous Chromebook versions, the new model focuses on online storage instead of at the machine. So the machine only has 16GB of storage, plus an SD card slot, but Google only offers 100 GB of free storage on Google Drive for two years.

Other parameters include 2GB RAM, USB 2.0, port 3.0, HDMI, two 1.5W speakers, Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi connectivity, no 3G or 4G machines. Google claims, the new Chromebook can work continuously for 6.5 hours to charge.
