Chipmaker Intel has announced a partnership with Ferrari North America to deploy a man-made aircraft using artificial intelligence to track car races. The video returned by the aircraft will be analyzed in real time and provide remote information to drivers and their teams to help them make better use of the racing time.
Intel also said data from this surveillance aircraft could provide live broadcasters with special information about the car race before it was unprecedented.
Of course, data can also be shared with viewers interested in individual riders or tracking the situation on any track.
Intel said the data collected from cars through unmanned aircraft would be far more detailed than the traditional way of shooting tracks.
The AI integrated drone system will be used in this year's North American Ferrari Challenge.
