Intel has just announced to PC manufacturers, it will stop producing Atom Z chips in the near future. This is the processor used on Sony Vaio P.
Intel Atom Z has not made much of a breakthrough in the market when compared to the Atom N series on netbooks in screen resolution and hardware. Its chip line is currently used on the Vaio P or Asus "T91" tablet netbook with touch screen.
There are rumors that Intel is trying to complete processor manufacturing contracts for Acer, Asus and MSI, but in the future, the company will forward the netbook lineup with many changes. Meanwhile, Sony also plans to renew its Vaio P in October.
