In 2015, 163 million smartbooks were shipped

A new study has estimated that about 163 million smartbooks will be shipped to the global market by 2015. This is a significant growth rate for the new product line that only appeared on the market since 2008.

ABI Research senior analyst Jeff Orr said, according to ABI Research 's definition of this product, the smbartbook is a low-profile device, operating on a mobile operating system and frequently connected via Wi- Fi or mobile broadband network.

Smartbooks can have many different shapes. They are subsets of MIDs (mobile Internet devices) and netbooks but give users the same advantage, cost and market demand. The only difference is that they do not use x86 processors.

Therefore, suppliers should avoid creating a separate market with a new name, rather than accepting that they are competing in a form that has already formed. Consumers hear about netbooks as an alternative to laptops and MIDs to replace mobile phones. Therefore, the best opportunity in the market of ultraportables is in the new styling factors.

One thing that is also very important for consumers is the price.ABI Research predicts that cost will be an important factor for suppliers to bring affordable smartbooks that cost $ 200 or less.
