How to use Folder Guard for computer security

Step 1:

Click on the link below to download Folder Guard software to your computer and proceed with the installation. First, select the software installation language and click OK to continue.

Then comes the software installation process. To install Folder Guard the computer needs to have an Internet connection, press Yes to continue.

Since this is a trial version, check the Start the 30-day Free Trial and click the next arrow below. Finally wait for the installation process to complete.

Step 3:

Start Folder Guard software on the computer. In the first interface, click Set up the folder protection to proceed with setting the password for the folder.

Step 4:

The software will ask the user to set a master password in the Master Password dialog interface. This password will require you to enter each time you open Folder Guard software, so choose a memorable password.

A password message has been activated for Folder Guard software.

Step 5:

Appear the main interface of the program with notification of trial period, click Continue to use.

Then click Lock a folder with a password . to add a password folder.

Then click Browse for folder to select the folder you want to set a secure password, and then click Next.

Step 6:

The interface appears for the user to enter the password for the folder. Enter the password and then click Next. To check the correct folder password, check the Display password. Click Next to continue.

Switch to the Password properties interface for users to customize the password. Click OK to finish.

Step 7:

Go back to the main interface of Folder Guard and click the Apply button and click the Protect button . So the directory is secure.

Step 8:

Now try to access the drive containing the folder and will see the folder is still displayed on the computer.

However, if other people click on this folder will display the Unlock icon as shown below. Any operation performed on the folder such as transferring data to a folder, copying data will not be possible.

To open the content in that folder, press the Unlock button and then enter the set folder password.

Step 9:

To remove the password set for the folder, at Folder Guard interface click on the folder path and select Remove password .

Click OK to agree to delete the password set for the folder. Then, click Apply to complete the operation.

Step 10:

In the Folder Guard interface when clicking Folders , folders appear on the computer as a tree. At this interface, users can control the folders.

With a folder with a green symbol, it is accessible. The i symbol only has read permission, cannot be deleted or edited, the red padlock icon cannot be accessed with a password.

Step 11:

When opening Folder Guard software, users will see the following options:

3. Change folder protection settings: Enter the Master Password password to access the main interface of the program.
