Part 1: How to post on eBay

Things to know about posting on the eBay auction site with the rest of the information section.

Add Picture : Ebay supports sellers to import 1 free image with the best resolution of 1024x768. The second image onwards will be charged 0.15 USD / picture. Maximum number of images that can be entered is 12.

To import the image, click " Add Pictures ", select Browse, then browse to the file saved on your device. If you have uploaded a website, you can choose the Self-hosting card to provide the link. The other two options are two display modes and all are available.

Picture Gallery : A small image will appear in the title (Title) item when the buyer searches. This section costs 0.35 USD.

Description : Item description. If you are not knowledgeable about HTML language and Microsoft Frontpage program, you can edit in Microsoft Word then " Save for Web " to save. Then, use Notepad to open the file to copy the HTML code, paste it into the HTML tag (default is Standard) in the Description section.

Visitor Counter : Counter for the introduction page. If hot items attract many buyers to see, it will increase business efficiency. On the contrary, it will bring the auction price lower than expected.

Ebay has three main forms for a seller to sell their items on eBay :
1. Create a starting price and a selling price for people to participate in the auction.
2. Create a price that buyers can buy at a constant price and end the transaction immediately.
3. Same as way 2 but the quantity sold and the selling term can last up to 3 months.This is a sale with Dutch Auction and the "store" items of the seller.

In the declaration section, you need to fill in the price information for the item, including:

- Starting price ( Starting price ): is the lowest floor price that buyers are forced to bid from this level upwards. (Refer to the fee that eBay collects when you bid here)

- Reserve price : when a buyer places a price that matches or passes this price during the auction period, he / she will win. That is the price you want to sell.

Usually, eBay sellers or tend to set Starting Price to $ 1 to get everyone's attention and bidders can freely set arbitrary prices.

If you only see the Starting price frame without Reserve price , do the following: Select " Show / Hide Options " above, select " Format " on the left and " Set a minimum selling price for your item " on the side right. Click Save to save the settings and then return to the " Selling Format " section, you will see the " Change " button to enter Reserve Price.

Quantity : the number of items you want to sell. If the number is raised more than 2, the price you set is the price for each item.

Duration : is the auction time, depending on the auction form.

Payment methods you accept : Default payment method in eBay is Paypal. However, you can use other payment methods such as check, cash.

Shipping ( Shipping cost): You need to consult carefully the export tax rate of the item to be sold, the shipping cost for each region and must be accurate. If there are any surcharges or fees, it must be stated because the general psychology of buyers will no longer want to buy an item when they have to pay too much extra fees but are not known in advance.

You must specify the delivery time for each area so that buyers can know and follow this timeline absolutely if you do not want to cancel the purchase.

Domestic cost : local shipping price. This price is related to the bottom part of " Item location ". We can use the " Shipping wizard " to make a selection of the size of the package to be delivered, weight declaration . to get the correct price.

Item location : Default will match the address of the account. You can change it by clicking " Change location " to indicate the location of the item being auctioned.

After completing all settings in the posting notification section, eBay will redirect you to the next page including additional services for decoration for additional item information. You can choose according to your needs and allowable costs. The total amount paid for the posting will be displayed on the bottom. Check again and click " Continue " to finish posting.
