Google first revealed YouTube's revenue, $ 15 billion a year

Google recently revealed YouTube's revenue in Alphabet's fourth-quarter earnings report. Accordingly, in just the past 3 months, YouTube has brought the company $ 5 billion in advertising revenue. This is the first time in 15 years since Google acquired YouTube for $ 1.65 billion in 2006, the revenue of this service was revealed.

For the whole of last year, YouTube brought in about $ 15 billion in advertising revenue, accounting for nearly 10% of Google's total revenue. This figure shows that YouTube's advertising revenue is currently about one fifth of Facebook.

In this report, Google also revealed that YouTube currently has more than 20 million subscribers, including the Premium service package, Music Premium and more than 2 million other subscribers for its paid TV service.

In the last quarter, (ending December 31, 2019) Alphabet had revenue of US $ 46 billion with a profit of US $ 10.7 billion, up 17% over the same period in 2018. The key earner for the whole Alphabet's giant empire is still Google search engine with $ 27.2 billion in the last quarter.

The financial performance of the cloud business was also revealed by Google, which created $ 2.6 billion in revenue last quarter.

One of the reasons after years of secrecy Google first announced revenue of YouTube and Google Cloud is revenue not as expected.

Google's profits show that the technology giant is no longer so dependent on Google Search as it used to be, its other businesses are growing rapidly.

For the whole of 2019, Google Search revenue is $ 98.1 billion, only an increase of 15% compared to the previous year. And YouTube's revenue in 2019 is $ 15.15 billion, up 36.5% compared to 2018.
