Galaxy A70 becomes a brick after updating Android 10

Samsung had to stop releasing the Android 10 update to the Galaxy A70 globally.

Samsung has begun rolling out Android 10 updates to the Galaxy A70 in some markets. However, according to a report from SamMobile , this update has a serious error and could damage the user's phone, making them unable to start and reluctantly becoming a "paperweight" properly.

At the moment, Samsung has yet to comment on the issue. However, the company has halted the release of Android 10 updates for Galaxy A70 globally. Most likely, the Korean manufacturer has paused to fix the error before sending the new update to the user.

SamMobile 's source said that only a few Galaxy A70 models had problems after updating to Android 10. Accordingly, Samsung used two different versions of the motherboard on the Galaxy A70. If you do not know, this is a PCB printed circuit board located on the bottom edge of the device, which controls the screen and manages the battery charge.

Normally, this extra board will be updated with the main board every time a user installs a software update. However, it seems that Samsung has forgotten to insert the necessary code for Galaxy A70s using older motherboard versions in Android 10 update.

Put simply, these devices will incompatibilities between software and hardware after updating to Android 10. The phone will "think" that the battery is completely discharged and will not boot.

The only way to fix the above problem is to replace the old auxiliary board with the newer version. Of course, users can not do this by themselves, but they must go to the service center of Samsung.

Notably, most affected Galaxy A70 models are devices sold in the Netherlands - where Samsung "priority" update to Android 10 first. Currently, the company has suspended the release of Android 10 update for Galaxy A70 globally, but it is not clear whether devices sold in other countries will be affected.
