Both Mini Inspiron 1018 netbooks and Mini 1012 netbooks are available on Dell's website, but a salesperson confirmed that Dell Mini products were no longer sold. When asking to buy these 2 laptops, customers will be introduced to Inspiron 11z - a small notebook with limited sales for $ 399.

Dell aims to maximize " profit sharing ", not market share, meaning that the company will focus on higher-profit products.

In other words, Dell will promote three brands: Inspiron, high-end XPS laptop, and Alienware series. That also means that consumers will not be able to purchase any product on Dell's website for less than $ 499, unless accompanied by discount coupons or quantity limits.

The mini netbook products have the same appearance as regular laptops but do not have the full features of laptops.

Previously, Dell removed two 9-inch and 12-inch Dell Inspiron Mini models before launching the Inspiron Mini 10 (HD) in February this year.

With the pressure of the mobile device market, Dell this year had to stop selling its Streak 5 tablet in August, and the Streak version larger than 7-inch was also erased in early December.
