Dell spokesman confirmed the device will be announced later this week but declined to comment on information posted on the Gizmodo tech site that the Inspiron 910 weighs 0.99 kg, uses an Intel Atom chip of 1.6 GHz, RAM. 1 GB, 8.9 inch screen, 3 USB ports, Wi-Fi connection and camera integration.
According to research firm Gartner, about 5.2 million mini-computers will be shipped this year and reach 8 million by 2009. By 2012, the world will receive up to 50 million thin and light laptops priced under $ 500.
The mini notebook market currently has the participation of HP, Lenovo, Asus, Acer and Micro-Star International (MSI).
