Accordingly, the latest Bing update (currently available only in the UK) has supported users with this new and interesting search method. For some people, especially young users, emoticons are a way to communicate and Bing wants to bring a newer search solution with emoticons.

Bing's authors also said, 'As you may know, emoticons are small images used to describe an idea or emotion. With the explosion of mobile devices and the ubiquity of messaging, it has become an abbreviated language used by billions of us in the world. At Bing we want you to be able to search the same way you communicate everyday '.

Actual testing of this new search function we can see from the image above, this search function is done by converting the image into the basic text to execute the query. The search results will not be articles containing emoticons but related text content.

While this may be a novelty for most users, this is one of the ways Bing is always looking for ways to overcome traditional input methods when searching.
