Avoiding the US ban, Huawei started selling laptops running Linux instead of Windows

Because of the US ban, it seems that in the near future Chinese technology company will not be able to install Windows on its new laptops.

In the past, Huawei laptops were often pre-installed with the Windows operating system when they were sold. But due to the US ban, it seems that in the near future Chinese technology company will not be able to install Windows on its new laptops.

In response to the U.S. ban, Huawei created its own operating system, Harmony OS, but it will be available on PC until at least 2020. So Huawei has come up with a solution to help the laptop segment survive without having to involve Windows 10.

Huawei's solution is quite simple, instead of pre-installing Windows 10 on a laptop when it is sold, the Chinese technology company switched to the open source operating system Linux. Currently, the company has begun manufacturing MateBook 13, MateBook 14 and MateBook X Pro laptops for Linux in the domestic market.

Specifically, Huawei is installing Deepin-based version of the Linux operating system with a beautiful interface similar to macOS, with many popular software such as Google Chrome, Spotify and Steam. The operating system also has WPS Office and CrossOver office suites that can run Windows software on Linux platforms.

In this way, Huawei can temporarily continue running the business without worrying about the US ban. You can install Windows on your computer if you want.
