20-minute rule to form a habit: Just spend 20 minutes a day and do it continuously for 30 days

20 minutes a day for a routine that will help you achieve your goals, reach your dreams and build the beautiful life you desire.

In a speech at Stanford University in 2005, Steve Jobs once said: "Your time is the limit, so don't waste it living other people's lives."

In other words, don't put your ladder on someone else's wall. Follow your dreams, not your parents ', your teachers', or anyone else influencing you in life.

To make your life dream come true, you need to follow the following process:

  1. Identify each specific dream. Each dream is a piece that makes the ideal life you desire.
  2. Identify each goal around each dream.Maybe you will have to accomplish many goals to achieve the dream you want.
  3. Create daily routines (called "target habits").Each of the habits that are completed each day will help you get closer to the goal.

After five years of studying the daily habits of the rich and the poor, Thomas C. Corley - bestselling author "Rich Habits: The Daily Success Habits of Wealthy Individuals" (Temporarily translated: habits daily familiarity makes success of the rich) - realizes that good habits are like snowflakes on the mountainside. You hardly realize the positive effects accumulated from building these good habits for your life, but over time, they will bring you many successes like a battle. "avalanche".

When it comes to success, for those who do not understand the nature of things, it seems that someone succeeds in just one afternoon (Overnight). Of course, what they don't realize is that success is a "byproduct" of many years of doing certain things every day.

Creating new habits everyday is not difficult if you know what to do, simply need time and perseverance . Perseverance is the key.

Here is a little trick that you can use to create good habits that help you achieve your goals to be the foundation to achieve the dreams that bring you the life you want. This is called the 20-minute rule . This rule is a simple 3-step process as follows:

Step 1: Determine the habit for the new goal you want to create.
Step 2: Take 20 minutes each day to make this habit.
Step 3:Repeat the routine for at least 30 days.

The habit of new goals can be:

♥ 20 minutes a day reading related books, documents and newspapers to expand knowledge, especially in the area you need to become more proficient, to achieve specific goals (for example, get one number of diplomas or certificates).

♥ 20 minutes a day for Networking activities to develop relationships with other successful people doing what you want to do. These relationships will open the door to opportunities to help you achieve your goals and realize your dreams.

♥ 20 minutes of listening to radio shows involving one or more of your goals to gain knowledge and better understand what you didn't know before.

♥ 20 minutes watching TED Talks - inspirational lectures recorded at TED nonprofit events - about the area you need to be more knowledgeable and proficient so you can realize the item specific targets.

♥ 20 minutes to develop side business activities that you hope one day will spend your entire time with them.

Above are the example goals for example. You can set up this process for your aspirations closer to your dream and start small. For example, 20 minutes a day to watch an English learning video, read 10 pages of books and record what you understand, exercise, cook a new dish .

In 30 days, your brain cells start talking to each other, forming synapses. As soon as the synapse is established, the necessary basis for creating habits will be formed and gradually this process will be easier than before.

At some point, between 66 and 256 days, according to the latest scientific study of change of habits, habits become automatic behavior.

The brain enjoys the habit of conserving energy and saving time working for the brain. However, habits need repetition and time for brain cells to talk to each other. 30 days is the basis for conversations going deep into the brain.

Once a new habit has been formed, you can move on to the next target habit and continue to follow the above 3-step process. In a one-year period, you can have 3 or more new target habits using the 3-step process. In a few years, you will create dozens of new habits and your life will begin to improve as you turn to complete your goals and realize your dreams.
