A team of researchers has developed a new electronic skin type that can help monitor heart rate, respiration, motor movement and other health data, and transmit wirelessly to smartphones.

Developed by Korean and American researchers, electronic skin has better tracking, more flexible, smaller size and is capable of attaching itself to any part of the body.

"This type of electronic skin contains about 50 components connected together by a tiny 250-coil network attached to protective silicon," the researchers said in a paper published in Nature Communications. The material has a soft nature that allows it to fit on the body, unlike hard, hard-to-stick screens.

Not only that, this electronic skin can transmit wireless data including heart rate, respiratory, heart, muscle, eye, brain data into the smartphone application.

According to the researchers, the key to creating this microsystem is to extend the elastic silicone fibers based on small integrated wires, made of gold, chromium and phosphate placed flat on the system.

Jang explained: "The whole system is wirelessly connected and it is being considered whether it is possible to charge it with batteries. Also, mechanical, physical, wire length, sensor problems will be optimized to reduce the possibility of signal interference when operating ".
