The world's first non-glass holographic phone is about to appear

Forget the iPhone 8 or Galaxy Note 8. RED, a company that produces professional digital cameras to shoot Hollywood movies, is about to launch a 3D holographic phone called Hydrogen.

The company calls Hydrogen the "first holographic device in the world" and says it doesn't need glasses to support viewing 3D images. The 5.7-inch phone runs Android and can pre-order two lines: $ 1595 for the high-end Titanium line and $ 1195 for the slightly lower Aluminum line. The phone will be delivered in the first quarter of 2018.

In RED's statement, Hydrogen owns a "high-end 3D screen" that can seamlessly switch between 2D, 3D and interactive games. This screen can display 'Hydrogen 4-View content (H4V)', 'two-channel 3D content' and '2D / 3D VR, AR and MR'. High quality audio is another great feature, along with a special algorithm that converts two-channel audio (stereo) to stereoscopic audio 5.1.

Just like the company's cameras, the important point of Hydrogen is its accessories. You can add cameras as 'attachments for high quality stills and animations as well as Hydrogen holographic format images'.

Hydrogen can connect with Scarlet, EPIC and Weapons cameras such as input devices and removable camera screens. Basically so. It is currently unclear what microprocessor, memory, RAM and other camera-related things are used.

The demo image shows a headphone jack, USB-C port and a fairly large camear on the back. RED website states that it will also have room for microSD memory card.

Hydrogen has a button to burn the red color quite prominently on the side of the device, which looks like it helps to hold the phone more firmly. This design is quite strange, it looks very industrial like the RED cameras. You can see some pictures of Hydrogen below.

Can this phone beat it all? Whether it is or not, Hydrogen is definitely not a product for everyone and only towards users of RED cameras as well as those who are interested in other professional cameras. sharp and not phone for everyone.
