Vowels in Thai

Thai has 32 vowel sounds that make up 9 long vowel sounds (with 2 or more characters), 9 short vowel sounds, 3 chords. The dual vowels can be on either side of the consonant.

In Thai, vowels do not stand at the beginning of a sentence but can only stand above, below, before and after consonants.
