Quad-Core chip for Laptop

Intel confirmed this year that it will release Quad-Core chips for laptops. This launch is expected by many consumers to replace the bulky desktop computers currently using this chip.

Intel said it will release a Quad-Core chip specifically designed for laptops. The design of the chip is based on a Core 2 Duo dual-core chip and it will be officially released in the third quarter of this year - according to an official announcement from Intel.

Intel declined to provide details about the new product. However, on the official website of Intel, the company has just announced the new name of this quad-core chip, Core 2 Extreme QX9300. Quad-Core chips for laptops based on the latest 45-nanometer technology from Intel.

Quad-Core chips will be launched by Intel after the Centrino 2 chip with the name 'Montevina' is launched by Intel in the second quarter of this year. Centrino 2 chips will integrate Wi-Fi and WiMax features on the same chip.
