Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province (China) is crowded and famous for its "knock-off" technology products that are the new hot spot for the netbook market. Electronic company Lanyu here recently saw the world's cheapest netbook model, called the e-book LY-EB01, with a selling price of 666 yuan, or $ 98.

LY-EB01 eBook uses "super modest" processor ARM AK7802Q216 266MHz, much cheaper than Intel Atom CPU models, 2GB flash hard drive and 128 MB RAM memory. It has a 7-inch TFT screen, 800 × 480 pixel resolution running WinCE 5.0 operating system. LY-EB01 eBook can connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi. With a 1,800 mAH Li-Ion battery, this netbook has an operating time of over 8 hours.

The device is extremely compact, measuring 213.5 × 141.8 × 30.8 mm and weighs only 0.6 kg, but still fully equipped with basic connectivity: 3 USB ports, LAN, SD card reader / MMC, Micro / Heaphone audio jack.

With this configuration, the capabilities of the device are only encapsulated in writing and checking mail.
