The GX640 is a lower-end version introduced with a 15.4-inch screen that stands out with an ATI Radeon HD5850 1GB DDR5 VRAM display card. Meanwhile, the GX740 has a slightly larger 17-inch screen with ATI Radeon HD5870 graphics card with 1GB DDR5 VRAM.

Both of these "terrible" laptops are equipped with Intel Core i5 chipset Intel HM55 and 4GB of DDR3 memory at 1333 MHz and hard drives up to 640 GB.

The GX640 and GX740 are all equipped with MSI's Ciname Pro technology, which enables users to watch movies in HD with smooth energy-saving ECO Engine Power Saving technology with 5 different modes depending on the user's use. Game, Movie, Presentation, Word Processing and Turbo Battery.

MSI's new duo also has connections like standard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, LAN port, 4-type memory card reader, 2 Megapixel camera and DVD or Blu-ray optical drive attached.

The GX 640 weighs 2.7 kg while the GX740 weighs 3.2 kg with a 6 or 9 cell battery. Both machines will be installed with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit operating system and will be available early next month for an undisclosed price.
