The first quad-core laptop for gamers

After the initial information was revealed in October, Asus recently launched the UK with the expected quad-core G71 laptop for gamers.

The G71 is powered by Intel's 4-core Core 2 Extreme QX9300 processor, similar to Dell's new Precision M6000, but the laptop doesn't support gaming functions like the G71. The purpose for which Asus launched the G71 is to make it the first laptop for gamers equipped with quad-core chips. But before it hit the market, Alienware shipped the M17, which also has a quad-core chip.

Intel chips used in the G71 will integrate Nvidia's GeForce 9700M graphics processor with 512MB of GDDR 3 memory for video processing, allowing users to play high-speed games and truly vivid images. The product is equipped with DDR 3 RAM with 4GB capacity, clock speed of 1,066GHz and a 250GB hard drive.

The G71 is equipped with a 17-inch wide screen and supports a secondary IM window that allows users to receive IM messages directly without affecting the game. Built-in webcam, supports Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 802.11n Wi-Fi connection, high-speed HDMI and eSATA connectors as well as other common ports. Users can choose Blu-ray optical drive or DVD burner to read and write. In addition, the device has a built-in subwoofer and two stereo speakers.

The G71 is now available for $ 2,000, while the model has the same specifications, but the dual-core Intel Core 2 Duo chip only costs $ 1350.
