The Apple Watch Series 2 and newer models are water resistant. Users can comfortably wear when performing activities in shallow water, such as swimming in a pool or at the sea, but that does not mean that the water does not completely get inside the device.

If your Apple Watch gets wet when it rains, after swimming or exercising heavily, its speakers may be muffled. However, you do not need to tuck anything into the holes or shake your watch to remove any water that may be trapped inside.

‌Apple Watch Series 2‌, Series 3, Series 4 and Series 5 include the Water Lock feature. This feature locks the screen so you can swim without accidentally activating it. You can also use this feature at any time to push water out of the speaker holes and prevent moisture from causing long-term problems.

To manually drain water from the leApple Watch‌, follow these quick steps.

1. Go to Control Center on ‌‌Apple Watch‌‌: Swipe up on the watch face or when in an app, tap the bottom edge of the screen, and then drag Control Center up.

2. Click the Water Lock icon (looks like a drop of water).
