How to join TED Talk

TEDx Talks are a platform for speakers to share great, polished ideas in less than 18 minutes, but how do you attend these talks?

To attend a TED Talks presentation , one has to go through many steps, such as creating a profile, registering as a member, writing about his contribution, etc. Here is a detailed guide on how to attend a TEDx talk .

1. Create an account on TED.com

To register for a TED Talk, first create a TED.com profile on their website. You will need to provide your name, email address, and password.

2. Select the TED talk you want to watch

On their website, TED publishes a list of upcoming talks. Read the description of each TED talk and choose one that suits your personal interests and desires.

Note:

Since TED Talks tend to fill up months in advance, choose a talk that's a few months out. You can register early to increase your chances of getting on the list.

3. Select your membership type

Attendees can join TED at four levels: Vanguard, Standard, Donor, and Patron. If this is your first time attending a TED Talk, we recommend Vanguard, which is designed for newcomers. It's also the least expensive of the four options.

4. Allow at least two hours to apply

The application consists of six short essay questions that you must answer in full. Focusing on the application for two hours will ensure that you give each question your full attention. In addition, you must submit a biography and answer questions about your professional aspirations, achievements, and activities. You can break down the application and complete each section as you save and resubmit it to your TED.com account.

5. Include any awards, internships, and other accolades you have won in your area of expertise:

This will demonstrate to the review panel your ambition and dedication to the job. Also, include any scholarships or awards you expect to receive in the near future to help achieve your goals.

For example, you could say: " As a law student, I have received several scholarships from universities in the legal field to study various judicial issues in our country. "

6. Describe how you plan to contribute to the TED community

Let the reviewers know what you, as an audience member, can contribute to the TED Talk. Be clear in your application about how your professional activities and interests relate to the topic of the TED Talk. This will demonstrate to the reviewers that you will be a valuable contributor to the discussion.

7. Provide your social media page URLs

Include your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram social media accounts in your application if you have any. Since reviewers will likely pay particular attention to your social media pages, make sure they present a positive and enthusiastic picture of your professional work. Before submitting your application, review your social media pages to ensure they accurately reflect your professional endeavors, interests, and goals.

8. Write a compelling and understandable bio

A bio, which includes an introduction about yourself and information about your history, interests, and work, is an important part of your TED Talk application. Don't copy and paste your bio onto your website or social media accounts. Instead, create a professional bio with a friendly tone, while also showing off your personality to stand out. Your bio should be between 250 and 500 words.

9. List two or three experts who can attest to your goals and interests.

Use references from professionals in your field, such as professors, colleagues, managers, or mentors. Do not use spouses or relatives as references, as this may appear unprofessional. Also, include people who have attended TED Talk conferences, if applicable. You will be asked to include the names and contact information of your references in your application.

10. Apply online

Applying to attend the TED Talk conference is free.

Finally, if everything goes according to plan, you will receive a confirmation email and a TED representative will review your application. This process is quite long and requires a lot of determination, but if you follow the instructions above, it will be much easier.
