How to hide, show chats on Microsoft Teams on PC

Method 1: Hide the Teams chat on PC

Note: The steps to hide Teams chat below apply to both individual chats and group chats.

To hide the Teams chat on your PC, follow the steps below:

Step 1: On the Teams window, find and click Chat in the left pane.

Step 2: Next, click the 3-dot icon next to the conversation you want to hide and then click Hide as below to hide the conversation:

Method 2: Unhide, show Teams chats on PC

Alternatively, if you want, you can restore or unhide Teams chats at any time.

Note: The steps below also apply to unhide both private and group chats. However with group chats, you will have to type in a search for the names of different members in the chat.

To do this, follow these steps:

Step 1: First enter the username you want to unhide, show the Teams chats. On the list of search results, click that user.

Step 2: Next, the screen will display a conversation between you and the other user in the Chat section. Click the 3-dot icon on the right and choose Unhide (unhide) to show the conversation.

On the Teams app for Android and iOS, follow the steps below to hide a chat:

Step 1: On the Teams application window, find and click the Chat button at the bottom of the screen to display the chats.

Step 2: Tap on the conversation you want to hide and then click the Hide chat option on the menu to hide the conversation.

Important Note:

On the Teams app for Android and iOS there is no option to allow users to unhide and show a conversation. So you can only wait for one of your team members to resend the message or you can unhide these chats on Microsoft Teams on your PC.
