How to Find the End Portal in Minecraft
Advanced players can reach the end of Minecraft - also known as The End. Players go to the end to fight the Ender Dragon and explore a cloud city filled with treasure. However, before doing this, you need to find the End Portal with the Eyes of Ender. Be fully equipped before you embark on a long and challenging quest. Bedrock: Endgame players only on version 1.0 or later (released December 2016) and is not available in the old world. Creative Mode Players: If you cannot activate the portal, create a new portal around you while you are standing in the middle. This ensures the blocks are oriented correctly.
Create Eyes of Ender
Enter the Nether (Hell). Finding and activating the End Portal requires you to have materials that can only be found in the Nether - Minecraft's underground world. Create a hell gate and go through it to start.
To create a hell gate, you need to arrange the obsidian into a rectangle four blocks wide and five blocks high, without filling in the spaces within the rectangle. If you don't have enough obsidian, you can skip the corners. Activate the obsidian blocks below with the igniter.
Hell is a dangerous area. Prepare yourself with quality food and enchanted diamond equipment. You may also need shields, bows and arrows, and wood to craft the necessary items.
Kill the fire demon to pick up the fire stick. Fire demons are floating yellow monsters surrounded by smoke. This type of monster is found in hellish fortresses - structures with columns placed on a sea of lava. Defeat the fire demons and pick up the fire sticks they leave behind. You usually need at least 5 fire sticks to find and activate the end portal, and this usually takes 7 days or more.
You will easily find the hell fortress if you follow the x axis (east or west).
Killing fire demons is very difficult, and fire sticks only appear when you kill them yourself or use tamed wolves. Equipping a magical bow and arrow, or a few snowballs (it takes 7 balls to kill 1 fire demon) will help you.
Kill Enderman to pick up the Ender Pearl. Enderman are black creatures with tentacles that only attack when you look at them. If you don't have many ender pearls yet, kill Enderman until you have the necessary amount. Each fire rod requires two ender pearls.
This will be easier when you have Looting enchanted on the diamond sword as this increases the chance of getting more ender pearls.
Enderman are found in the Overworld (surface world) in groups 1-4. You can also find Enderman in groups of 4 in Hell, but it is very rare. They appear at light levels 7 or lower.
Be careful when killing Enderman because they have enough power to make you lose your life.
Create Eyes of Ender. Ender Eyes have the ability to find and activate end portals. You usually need at least 9 ender wards for this, often more. The manufacturing formula is as follows:
Place the fire stick in the crafting area to turn it into 2 parts of fire powder.
Place a portion of the fire powder and ender pearl anywhere in the crafting area to create an ender eye.
Find End Portal
Use the Eye of Ender. Place the ender eye in position and press 'use' while you hold it. The eye will fly into the air, and move a short distance horizontally to the nearest fortress. (The entire end portal is found inside the fortress.)
In the computer version of Minecraft, the nearest fortress is at least 1408 blocks away from the world's starting point. You need to move to this minimum distance before using ender ward.
Ender eyes will leave a light purple trail while moving, so you can follow the trail even if you can't see them.
Ender's eye is only effective in the surface world, instead of hell.
Pick up ender's eyes. Each ender ward has a 20% chance of being broken each time you use it. Most of the time, you can pick up the ender eye where it drops.
That's why it's important to have some ender wards ready.
Follow the direction of the ender eye's movement. Forts are often far apart in the PC and Bedrock versions, and there is only one fortress in the console version's world. To avoid wasting ender wards, you need to walk at least 500 blocks before using ender wards again.
Try to walk in as straight a line as possible. If the cursor is placed over the hovering eye, you are looking in the perfect direction. Check your coordinates and try to keep the same perspective.
Keep throwing eyes until you see one eye fall. If your eyes fall to the ground, you are near the underground fortress. If your eyes drift back to the starting point, you have passed the fortress location.
Digging forts. Dig down the stairs until you find the room in the fortress. Ender's eyes only point towards the fortress, not the end gate. Maybe you haven't seen what you're looking for yet, but you're close to it.
This does not apply to all versions of Minecraft.
Find Portal Room (room with portal). Each fortress has a gated room, with stairs leading to an area above the sea of lava. You need to pay attention to silverfish spawning on the stairs. The portal ends above the area, with the border created from the green square. Be prepared to fight the silver on the stairs.
It is possible that the fortress will have many rooms, but they will not always be connected to each other. If you reach a dead end, dig up the surrounding area to find more rooms. Finding a room with a gate can be time-consuming.
It is very rare to have other structures (such as a mine shaft) in a gated room. If that structure blocks the gate, you cannot use that gate. On the computer you can find another fortress. On consoles, since there is only one fortress in each world, you cannot reach the end zone without using a cheat code.
Activate the end gate. Unless you're very lucky, the portal won't activate once it's found. To activate, you need to place an ender ward in each of the 12 green squares (end portal frames) around the portal. Portals usually have several ender wards already, so you don't need to create 12 ender wards yourself.
About 10% of ender eyes will appear in the square, so you don't need to worry because there will usually be about one or two eyes.
Jump into the gate. When you place the last ender ward into the portal, a sparkling black portal will appear. Jump in here when you're ready to enter the end portal and fight the Ender Dragon.
Note, this is a one-way journey (at this time). You cannot return from the portal unless you kill the dragon or die.
Use binocular throwing (Java version only)
Open your coordinates. Press F3on your computer, or set up and use the map on your gaming console. Find the x, z and Facing values in the information displayed on the screen.
On some Mac computers, you need to press Fn+ F3or ⌥ Option+ Fn+ F3.
Throw ender eyes. Move the cursor to the position where the eye is hovering. Write x, z and Facing values on the screen. The x and z coordinates indicate your location on the map, and Facing indicates the direction in which you are looking. You only need the first number that appears after Facing, not the second number.
Repeat the operation at another location. Move about 200 to 300 blocks away from the last position. Do not follow the direction of the eye movement, or face the eye. Use the ender eye again, move the cursor to where the eye is hovering, and write the new x, z and Facing values.
Enter these values into the online tool. The information you wrote describes two lines on the Minecraft map, each pointing towards the fortress. Finding the intersection of two lines requires trigonometric knowledge, but you can use online tools to calculate it. Try this tool, or search for "minecraft stronghold locator". The tool will give you the x and z coordinates of the nearest fort.
Because the computer version has many fortresses, it is possible that the two ender eyes will be facing two different fortresses. However, this is unlikely if the two points are less than a few hundred blocks apart.
Calculate yourself. If you can't find an online tool, you can calculate coordinates using these three formulas:
Call one group of coordinates X 0 , Z 0 and F 0 , and the other group X 1 , Z 1 and F 1 .
If F 0 > -90, you would add 90 to get DEG 0 . If F 0 < -90, add 450. Repeat with F 1 to get DEG 1 . This sets the f value between 0 and 360 degrees.
Use the calculator to find and . Switch the calculation tool to degrees, instead of radians.
The x coordinate of the fortress is .
The z coordinate of the fortress is .
Find the fortress using 'seed' in the world
Find 'seed' information. Every Minecraft world has a series of letters and numbers called "seed". This is information that defines the topographic map, including the location of fortresses. Find and copy (or write down) this sequence of information:
Java version: Enter /seed. If commands are not enabled, you need to enable them first by doing the following: Esc→ Open to LAN → Allow Cheats → Start LAN World.
Console version: Open the world selection menu and find the 'seed' information next to your world. (If the information doesn't appear here, you'll need to download the 'seed' finder.)
Bedrock Edition: Access main menu. Press Play, then select Edit. 'seed' information is displayed below the name of each world.
Create a Creative world using 'seed' information. Create new worlds in Creative mode. On the world creation screen, enter the exact 'seed' information that is being displayed. (First, click More World Options in the desktop version.)
Choose the same world type as your main world.
Find the fort. Since you're in Creative mode, you can place an unlimited number of ender wards in your inventory. Use them and fly in their direction until you see the fortress.
Write down the x-, y-, z- coordinates of the fort. Since you used the world's 'seed' information, the Survival world also has a fortress with the same coordinates.
On the computer, you will press F3to see the coordinates. On some Mac computers, press Fn+ F3or ⌥ Option+ Fn+ F3.
On consoles, you need to use a map to find coordinates.
On the Pocket version, the simplest way is to use a third-party program.
Leave the end zone
Fight and kill the Ender Dragon. After you go through the end portal, the only way to get out is to kill the dragon. You need to use swords, bows and arrows, and lots of armor to defeat dragons. This takes a lot of preparation time and effort; So, go through the gate when you're ready.
The dragon guards the portal back to the world, so you must defeat it first.
Go through the obsidian gate. After defeating the dragon, you can go through the gate. This brings you back home to your normal gaming area.
You can even see information about the Minecraft game production team because they have reached the end zone.
Return to the nearest resting place if you die. Another way to get out of the end portal (besides killing the dragon) is to lose the battle and die. This will quickly return you to your previous resting place, but you will lose everything you have, so this is not a good choice.
That's why it's important to prepare to fight the Ender Dragon before you go through the portal. If you are not prepared, you may lose your items.
