Step 4. In Shutdown settings, tick Hibernate and finally click Save changes to enable hibernation on Windows 11.
You can now put your system into hibernation via Start > Power > Hibernate.
How to customize hibernation on Windows 11
After enabling Hibernate mode on Windows 11, you can adjust a number of settings to customize it to suit your workflow.
Here's how you can adjust hibernation settings on Windows 11:
Step 1. Open the Start menu, search for Control Panel and select the best match.
Step 2. Click on System and Security, then click on Power Options.
Step 3. For the currently selected power plan, click Change plan settings, then select Change advanced power settings to open the Power Options dialog box.
Step 4. Expand the Sleep options and then expand the Hibernate after options.
Step 5. Adjust the time it takes to enter hibernation mode when on battery (On Battery) and plugged in (Plugged in).
Step 6. To make your changes permanent, click Apply and then OK.
