You may be a little cautious to put more money into these accessories. But yes, they are really useful.

After checking out the glossy iPhone X for a thousand dollars, I had to pay another 75 dollars ($ 50 for a 29-watt adapter and $ 25 for a USB-C-to-Lightning cable). It is quite funny. Especially when any flagship Android device is available in the box.

But believe it. Those things are really useful because charging is normally slow.

Compare fast charging between latest iPhone models

The charging test is done when the iPhone X is completely empty and connected to the USB-C-to-Lightning cable, then connected to the 29-watt adapter and plugged into the power outlet. After leaving iPhone charging 15 and 30 minutes, this is the result.

  1. 15 minutes: 26% battery
  2. 30 minutes: 46% battery

Which iPhone can charge 100% of the fastest battery?

This in turn is the result of charging iPhone X, 8 Plus and 7 Plus until 100% of the battery is fully charged: 2 hours 5 minutes, 1 hour 50 minutes and 2 hours 32 minutes.

Compare fast charging and normal charging

Now there are several numbers comparing new iPhone models. What about fast charging compared to regular chargers with 5-watt and USB-A-to-Lightning converters like on other iPhones? This is the result when charging in the usual way.

  1. 15 minutes: 10% battery
  2. 30 minutes: 22% battery
  3. 3 hours 33 minutes: 100% battery

You can see for yourself, fast charging saves up to an hour and a half compared to fast charging if you want to fill the battery. The experiment showed fast charging until the battery was full. IPhone X was slower than the iPhone 8 Plus, partly due to the battery of 2,716mAh compared to the 2,675 mAh of the iPhone 8 Plus.

In the last minute, fast charging takes 21 minutes while charging usually takes 23 minutes. Usually all fast chargers are slower at the last minute to avoid battery or phone damage.

Also worth the investment

The $ 70 is also relatively large for an adapter and cables for charging only, but it's really worth it if you need to charge fast, use a lot and don't have time to wait.
