If you do not want to be disturbed by the LED blinking when there is a message or uu ringing in your pocket, then you need to activate the non-disturbing mode in Android right now.
Don't let yourself lose to a smart phone. Set up some basic rules with your phone and make sure it doesn't bother you in meetings, at the cinema or when you just take a nap. This is how to turn on non-disturbing mode on Android from the settings or using 3rd party apps and the non-disturbing settings make your life easier. Let's follow it.
Note: You can find some minor differences in menu options on each phone, depending on the manufacturer, but the Do Not Disturb (No Disturbance ) mode is now integrated on the phones run Android 6.0 and above, so you will easily find them.
How to use non-disturbing mode in Android
The quickest way to turn on non-disturbing mode is to swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification section and click the Do Not Disturb icon. On most phones running Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above, you will get a menu with three options:
- Total silence : Nothing can bother you.
- Alarms only : Any alarm you have set may disturb you.
- Priority only ( Priority only ): The alarm can be accepted, but you can customize exactly what else should and should not bother you.
In this section, you will see the option to determine how long the Do Not Disturb mode will work. You can set it for 1 hour to attend a meeting, specify the time this mode will turn off or let it work until you turn it off yourself.
Set priority notifications in non-disturbing mode
If you want to use the Priority only option, you must specify what the priority message is.
- Go to Settings> Sound & notification> Do not disturb and press Priority only allow . If you use a Samsung Galaxy phone, select Settings> Sounds and vibration> Do not disturb> Allow exceptions> Custom .
- You can select Reminders , Events , contact lists, approved messages or calls from specific contacts or repeat those who have called twice within 15 minutes.
Set automatic rules in non-disturbing mode
You can turn on the mode without disturbing automatically, based on the event or time by setting some rules.
- Go to Settings> Sound & notification> Do not disturb and click Automatic rules . If you use a Samsung Galaxy phone, select Settings> Sounds and vibration> Do not disturb> Enable as scheduled .
- Click Add rule and decide whether you want to enable it by time or by specific event.
- Select a name for the set rule and then specify the trigger.
- For time-based rules, you can choose the days of the week and specify the start and end times. This means you can set a rule for bedtime for weekdays and another rule for weekends.
- For event-based rules, you'll need to specify the calendar tool to link and then you can turn on the mode that doesn't bother automatically, when you have an event, such as a meeting. You can even specify it to work only for meetings you have marked Yes .
Note: Unfortunately, event-based rules are not available on Samsung Galaxy phones. You can use the application to increase features for non-disturbing mode on Android.
