Future phones will have screens on both the front and back
A patent appeared again showing three new ideas of Samsung, two fronts of the phone have screens.
Samsung has used curved screen technology on the Galaxy S8 and it seems that it is not enough, they are expanding that technology to completely change the look of the phone in the future.
Samsung's new patent shows that their idea is to place the screen both before and after the phone. Be registered with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO World Intellectual Property Protection Organization) from 4/1 but they have applied from April 22, 2017. Which shows 3 models with 3 different ideas.
Here are some pictures of these ideas.
Curved screen, overflowing the right edge of the smartphone to the back
The 1st design has a continuous screen from front to back, overflowing to the right, making it look like 2 monitors. Users will have 2 options to watch because this smartphone can change its position from front to back. Many people can see the same content from both sides of the device.
The image can flip from front to back depending on how the user is holding the device
In the second phone model, there is also a sensor to determine where the user is holding the device, and then switch between the previous and the next screen.
Curved screen spills over the bottom edge of the smartphone
This sample is quite similar to the previous two models, just a little different from the design that the screen will overflow to the bottom edge of the machine before pulling back. Microsoft also registered a patent for the same design in 2014 but has yet to release any actual device market.
Samsung also has a lot of patents for other smartphone designs but none of them have turned into real phones. There is no guarantee that these phones will come to market. But it is not surprising that someday, there really is a smartphone folded.
