Vsmart's current smartphone production factory with a current capacity of 23 million units is located in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park (Hanoi). In the second phase, the plant's capacity will increase to 125 million units per year.
This factory is designed and constructed according to international standards for modern electronic product manufacturing factories, IPC-A-610.
Currently, Vsmart is the only Vietnamese brand phone company that can produce the motherboard of each phone. This manufacturing process is fully automated from the manufacture, printed circuit, to cutting and assembling auxiliary components of the circuit board.
ASM Siplace-TX2 German machine attaches components (chip, antenna, IC .) to the board.
When the hardware is complete, the board starts the process of loading programs and software. Each production line consists of a system of 3 stations, capable of loading 24 boards simultaneously. The line can assemble 13,000 boards with the day. The number of employees needed for this stage is less than 30.
After that, the board will have to go through the test of the parameter calibration machine. If passed, the board will go into the assembly line. This is the stage that requires meticulousness and sensitivity, which robots do not have, so it requires more human involvement.
Before entering the production area, all workers who work directly with the equipment must wear anti-static clothing and go through the dust removal room. The production area is strictly controlled 24/24 in terms of temperature (24 with 2 degrees Celsius), humidity (40-60%) and air level 10,000.
After finishing the installation, the phone will go through the system to check features such as touch, wave, sound, photography . The process is all automated. The Vsmart phone will then be loaded with the VOS operating system. For details about this operating system, you can see in the article: '5 highlights of the pure Vietnamese operating system VOS 2.0 on Vsmart Live'.
To be marketed, Vsmart phones will have to pass hundreds of tests to test durability in specialized lab systems. These tests include a variety of tortures for both hardware and software, performed by machines with precise indicators such as being weighed, dropped, bent, twisted from multiple directions, etc.
Vsmart smartphones also have to undergo a test of 'stamina' in extreme environments from -40 degrees Celsius to 80 degrees Celsius to predict the risk of the phone exploding due to overheating, conditions existing in the fog. salt, chemicals .
Machine parts such as touch screens, volume buttons, headsets, charging cords, etc. are tested with the press and release actions tens of thousands of times to test the durability.
