Apple released OS X 10.8.1, significantly improving the battery

According to Arstechnica, the OS X 10.8.1 version that Apple has just released may improve battery performance on some Mac models. After some tests on the 15.4-inch MacBook Pro Retina and MacBook Air 2011 models, the source said, battery performance improved significantly compared to version 10.8.0.

In particular, the MacBook Air model before installing OS X 10.8.0 has a continuous operation time of about 4.5 to 5 hours. However, after upgrading to Mountain Lion, the device only maintained for 3.5 hours. Continuing to update the system to OS X 10.8.1, the operating time of the machine returns to about 4.5 hours. The battery used on this model is not a new battery and is properly charged within two years.

For Macbook Pro Retina model, when running Mac OS X 10.7.4, the machine works for about 8 hours. After uploading version 10.8.0, it only maintained for 5 hours. After updating to version 10.8.1, unplug the charger, the operating time of the device is raised about 7 hours.
