Apple launched a solution to overcome spam in iCloud Calendar
Spam users in the iCloud Calendar calendar now have a way to prevent it
Apple recently released a patch to overcome the spam situation in iCloud Calendar service, making users uncomfortable in the past. On iCloud.com, " Apples Apples " added a new feature called " Report Junk " that allows users to delete spam invitations and report the sender of an invitation to Apple to take appropriate action.
The new feature is only available on Apple's iCloud.com site, but it will most likely be released for both the Mac and iOS Calendar apps - via a software update in the near future.
The above-mentioned spam incident began in early November, when some users received calendars "bombs" from strangers (usually Chinese names). These spammers take advantage of calendar descriptions to advertise unwanted software (junkware) as well as advertise many other products. The incident culminated in Black Friday shopping when spammer took advantage of the occasion of " crazy " users shopping during discounts to spread the invitation. Apple eventually had to say sorry to customers.
Before Apple came up with a solution, users had no effective way to combat spam. They can reject the invitation, but it is like notifying the spammer that their email address is active, meaning it will have to receive spam in the future. The Junk Report feature, therefore, will now be an option recommended by Apple to solve the problem.
As mentioned, users will now have to access iCloud.com using their web browser to use Report Junk. The Report Junk button will appear for calendar invitations from strangers who are not in your contacts. After pressing the button and reporting the sender to Apple, a message will appear saying "Spam invitations will be automatically deleted from your Calendar application ". Users can ignore the notification or select the " Not Junk " button to withdraw the decision in case they realize that the report was wrong.
