AMD's next-gen 'Granite Ridge' CPUs are about to enter mass production, AM5 platform later this year

AMD's next-generation Ryzen CPUs, expected to be codenamed Granite Ridge and powered by the Zen 5 core architecture, are said to be about to enter mass production in time for a market launch this fall. shopping later this year.

The new Ryzen CPU line will be oriented by AMD as a landmark generation due to the switch to using a completely new Zen architecture. In terms of compatibility, users purchasing the AM5 platform will be able to rest assured of compatibility with next-generation AMD Ryzen CPUs. AMD has committed to a 2025+ plan for its AM5 socket, and as we saw on the AM4 platform, AMD has supported its CPU platforms much longer than Intel. The Zen 5 core architecture will also be available on the next generation laptop processor line codenamed Strix Point. AMD will likely release this CPU line in 2025.
