7 effective time management ways to optimize productivity
Use the tips below to optimize your productivity at work, school or home!
When it comes to productivity , all of us have the same difficulties because we only have 24 hours a day. However, it seems that some people have twice as much work time, what mystical abilities do they have to complete the job?
How many times have you woken up and found yourself lying on your desk, just answering the phone and clicking the web to read the information, it was already noon and you realized that you still haven't done anything yet ? We often fall into that situation. But if this happens on a regular basis, it's time you need to change it. Use the tips below to optimize your productivity at work, school or home!
1. Create a "timeline"
Start an effective day with a list of things to do during the day, including time for work and specifically details everything to start working on. So that the list is close to you, where you can see it best. When you find yourself wasting time, add more to your time schedule. This will be a reminder of the things you don't allow yourself to repeat - like watching videos, TV or surfing Facebook.
You will be surprised to know how much downtime really is creating each day. Then review what you need to do and what you can do but can't do it!
2. Hide or remove social networking applications
" Among people using social media networks, on average each person will spend 3.6 hours a day to access the online social network ," a study was revealed by the Ipsos Open Thinking Exchange magazine. . That takes about a quarter of the awake time of the day! Imagine what you can do about the rest of the day.
To not waste time every day, delete the social networking applications on your phone's home screen and on your computer browser toolbar. You will then not be able to access the website, in fact this can help you avoid being bothered by updates.
It is not wrong to be infatuated with a favorite TV show, because they can give you a more relaxed mood. However, if you're entertained by watching TV shows and playing games, surfing the web for 3 hours every night, it's time you need to gradually reduce your leisure time. What do you think if you reduce the time to watch movies to 2 hours and 1 hour left to spend on bodybuilding? Moreover, you can use that time to practice listening to English, learning a new language or skill or reading a book.
3. Set a daily goal
Every day you will have to set yourself a new task to accomplish. Make it easy for yourself to be able to accomplish your goals. For example, will you have a big report next month? Consider what you will do each day to complete it instead of waiting until the last days to complete. You can use the Google Calendar application (online calendar building service) to achieve your goals. In addition, you can set up phone reminders to remember what to do and make sure you don't forget anything.
4. First complete the most important task of the day
It will be easy to start a day with simple tasks, right? It makes you feel like you're completing something, even when you're avoiding making big plans. However, time to complete less important tasks makes you feel tired and sometimes makes you feel hesitant when starting to prioritize work. So put important tasks first and implement them first. It will be a better way to make and complete the rest of the day smoothly.
5. Do not hug many things at a time
" Multitasking " or too much work is a real enemy of productivity. According to the published report of the NPR site, we humans cannot work " multitasking ". The human brain often focuses on working faster on each task, instead of hugging too many things at once to distract.
But what if a person hugs a lot? If you try to do too many things at once, you probably won't be able to accomplish that task effectively. In addition, it can take more time if you simply focus on each task, which means you can only reduce your productivity if you " multitask ."
As a result, people embrace many things - people who do a lot of things feel that this helps to improve their performance - but conversely, they are less effective than those who do things one at a time. The reason is that multitasking people often have more difficulty in organizing ideas and screening related information, they will be slower in moving from one task to another.
6. Take advantage of downtime
What do you do when waiting in a doctor's office or on a train going home?If you're just staring out the window, you're wasting your precious time.Instead, you can email, think, or record your upcoming work plan at your institution or place of study. You can even use this downtime to do breathing exercises to reduce daily stress , as long as you can do something more productive.
7. Read books about time management (and valuable advice)
