4,300 year old color painting in an ancient Egyptian tomb
An ancient Egyptian tomb, named Mastaba - Mast, discovered in the Dahshur pyramid cemetery 25 kilometers south of the Egyptian capital Cairo, surprised scientists when Witness what was found inside.
Dating back more than 4,300 years, colored paintings found on the tomb walls accurately depict the daily activities of ancient Egyptians.
Made from unburnt mud bricks, the Mast pyramid measures 8x12 meters, with almost absolute integrity. From what was found, archaeologists determined that the tomb belonged to a man named Seneb-nebef and his wife Idut, both of whom seemed to be important figures in the city government at that time. Dahshur is the southernmost area of the ancient city of Memphis. Tourists coming here are often attracted by King Sneferu's pair of pyramids: Bent Pyramid and Red Pyramid.
