Excavation of a thousand-year-old Egyptian tomb reveals the mummy in an 'intact' state.
An ancient Egyptian tomb that kept a well-preserved mummy has been stirring up international archeology.
Accordingly, a Spanish archaeologist discovered a thousand-year-old coffin containing a mummy in " very good condition " near the Egyptian town south of Luxor, on the west bank of the Nile 700km south of Cairo, it is estimated that the grave is between 1075-664 BC.
Excavation inside shows that a mummy filled with plaster is in good storage with a special shroud wrapped around it.
The outer coffin is made of wood, vividly colored, buried near the area of a royal tomb of King Thutmose III's reign.
Archaeologists directly unearthed the comment, the tomb is likely a noble named Amenrenef , once a servant of the Egyptian royal family .
The head of the archaeological team, Mr. Myriam Seco Alvarez, said the coffin was decorated in different colors, bearing the style of ancient Egyptian religious symbols, featuring goddesses like the goddess Isis and Nephtys with distinctive spread wings.
This is considered to be one of the oldest tombs of ancient Egypt that has been discovered and marked with the high technique of mummification, which has existed for a long time.
It is known that Luxor is a city of half a million people on the banks of the Nile, rife with temples and tombs built by ancient Egyptian pharaohs.
