Unexpectedly unearthed 17 ancient tombs of the third century - IX at Vulci
A series of 17 ancient tombs were found in the Etruscan cemetery of Vulci near Viterbo, estimated to date from the third century - the 9th century BC.
The new discovery shows that inside these ancient tombs, there are many jewels buried by the deceased's relatives. And most surprisingly, there is an additional piece of spiritual literature about the afterlife praying for the deceased to be found in the graves.

Strictly speaking, these 17 graves are located in a specific area called Poggetto Mengarelli of the Etruscan cemetery. The area was formerly known as the burial place of royalty such as Golden Scarab and Princess Etruscan in 700 BC. And recently, this area is constantly being attacked by illegal archaeologists to hunt and hunt jewels under graves.
In addition, among the 17 ancient tombs, many silver rings, bronze ornaments and bronze vessels were found in the ancient tomb of a man. Add to that the golden earrings and two spiritual statues found in the grave of a young girl. In addition, the group found a bronze mirror, metal ring, and paint jar found in the remaining ancient tombs.
'The number of ancient tombs in this area is an impressive, unique figure,' said Alfonsina Russo, Roma Archaeological Director in a statement.
And now the excavation of these 17 ancient tombs is still ongoing and hopefully will find many more interesting artifacts in this grave in the future.
