Notably, in the newly declassified reports, US pilots all refer to UFOs as "unmanned aircraft systems" (Unmanned Aircraft Systems - UAS). This is the term used by the US military to define drone objects. 

" Due to their small size, these flying objects were identified as UAS, " the report said.

In a collision in June 2013, a pilot described the flying objects as " white in color, about the same size as a drone or a rocket ". Another pilot described the unidentified flying object as " estimated at 1.5m long, white, without any other distinctive features " after the clash in November 2013.

However, in most encounters, US Navy pilots were unable to identify the person who controlled (remotely) these drone objects.

In particular, in the UFO encounter in April 2014, American pilots chased and locked their targets successfully with radar and missile systems onboard, but could not see the object with their eyes. often. 

The first encounter was in 2004

Based on 13-page documents declassified by the US Department of Defense, the first encounter between American fighters and unidentified flying objects occurred since November 2004.

At that time, Navy Lieutenant Colonel David Fravor and Major Jim Slaight were piloting two F / A-18 fighter jets on patrol missions some 161 km off the coast of San Diego (USA).

During the mission, F / A-18 pilots received a communication signal from the cruiser USS Princeton of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, asking to investigate a group of airborne objects. Identification is appearing in the area.

These objects were in fact tracked by the USS Princeton two weeks earlier, when the onboard radar detected a group of 8-10 flying objects that suddenly appeared near Catalina Island and San Clemente in California. Notably, these flying objects have the 'escape hidden' display on the radar screen.

" These objects appeared at an altitude of about 24km and then suddenly dropped to about 6km in just a few seconds and hovered above the sea surface. After that, it disappeared from radar visibility ," the radar operator on The USS Princeton remembers.

After flying to the area designated by Princeton, the radar system on F / A-18 did not detect any objects. But when Lieutenant Colonel Fravor looked down at the sea, he witnessed a very strange sight: A giant whirlpool about the size of a Boeing 737 was going wildly at sea. Just a few seconds later, both pilots spotted a white oval flying object, about 14 meters long, flying at a height of 15 meters above the sea.

As described by Lieutenant Colonel Fravor, this strange flying object is unlike any other US or other fighter jet: It has no cockpit, no wings, even no sign. of a conventional propulsion.

When the F / A-18F Super Hornet fighter approached for a closer look, the mysterious flying object also turned towards the aircraft but suddenly launched in just 2 seconds. F / A-18 Super Hornet fighters cannot catch up to UFOs because of their speed.

The two Navy pilots later reported the situation to officers on the USS Princeton and received a patrol flight at a new location. While Fravor and Slaight were piloting the moving plane, the USS Princeton contacted and claimed to have detected an unidentified flying object via the ship's radar. 

More surprisingly, this strange flying object appeared again in an area about 97km away from the location of two F / A-18 aircraft. According to calculations by Popular Mechanics magazine, to be able to overcome the distance of nearly 100km 'in just a few seconds' - according to the text of the communication of the ship USS Princeton to pilot Fravor, the speed of this object must reach at least 68000 km / h. 

This speed is really far beyond the existing technology of mankind, enough to make the fastest fighter models in the world also have to 'smoke'. In fact, by the time the two pilots Fravor and Slaight arrived, the mysterious UFO had disappeared for some time. After the failed UFO chase, they took the F / A-18F Super Hornet back to the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. No further investigations of the incident have occurred.
