1. Turn off the reach feature (Reachability) to avoid being accidentally activated
The Reachability feature launched for the first time on iPhone 6 to pull the limit of your screen down so you can reach the goals above when using with one hand. This is a pretty useful feature in some cases. However, it is also very easy to activate this feature when you are not. Simply because we just need to tap twice on the Home key to activate.
If you feel uncomfortable about this, go to Settings> General> General (settings)> Accessibility (accessibility) . Then turn off the reach mode (Reachability).
2. Reduce the speed to press the Home key
For iPhone, you can press activate some features by pressing 2 or 3 times the Home key. However, the default speed between clicks may be quite fast for some people. To change this, go to Settings> General> General (settings)> Accessibility (Home)> Home Button (Home button) . Here you can reduce the speed at will after selecting either Slow (Slow) or Slowest in the Click Speed section.
3. Turn off Siri mode to prevent accidental activation
If you've ever felt your iPhone vibrate slightly while in your pocket, chances are you've accidentally recalled Siri. All you have to do to call Siri is to hold down the Home key, so this happens quite often to people who use lighter or keys in their pockets. To fix this, follow 1 of 2 ways:
- Prevent Siri from turning on the lock screen: Go to Settings> Touch ID & Passcode (Touch ID & Password) . Then enter your password to continue. Once inside, please scroll down to Allow access when locked then turn off Siri.
- Break all features Siri : If you feel that Siri doesn't help you, cut off all Siri features. To do so, go to Settings> General> Siri . Then turn off the Siri feature off button and select Turn Off Siri line (Siri off) .
Note for iOS 10: Siri will have a separate item just outside the Settings section (settings) so you will not have to go to General section anymore.
4. Create additional 3-tap actions for the Home key
You can create additional features for the Home key when using the 3-tap operation. It will be difficult for you to accidentally press the Home key 3 times in a pocket so this is really a feature that you should consider.
- Add accessibility shortcut (Accessibility Shortcut) : Go to Settings (settings)> General (general settings)> Accessibility (accessibility)> Accessibility Shortcut (accessibility shortcut) . Here, you can choose to activate any feature that you want when you press the Home key 3 times like zoom, reverse color, color filter ., you can choose all 6 features all. Then try to press the Home key three times in a row, all the features you have selected will appear.
- Using Guided Access mode : This is a nice feature when you want to show someone a picture or message but still prevent their curiosity. Just go to Settings (settings)> General (general settings)> Accessibility (accessibility)> Guided Access (access instructions) turn it on, set a password (the password may be different from the password to open the device) is usable. To use this feature, just go to an application you want, then press the Home key repeatedly 3 times. If you have already installed some other features for this operation, there will be a table showing all the features you have selected. Please select Guided Access (access is instructed) . If not installed, this feature will appear immediately. You will be asked to localize the screen where you do not want others to touch, or you can select Options (options) and interrupt all other things like keyboard, volume buttons . After done, click Start (continue) . And now you can freely show your phone to others without having to worry about exposing personal information in your phone. Because the only way to get rid of that feature or to use the blocked areas is to press the Home key 3 times again, then re-enter the password.
5. Use AssistiveTouch to replace the Home key
If you're still unhappy about the Home key, or your Home key is corrupted or corrupted, you can try a new way to control your device. AssistiveTouch feature will allow you to do this.
To enable this feature, go to Settings (settings)> General (general settings)> Accessibility (Assist)> AssistiveTouch . After that, a circular, small, translucent and movable key will appear on the screen. When you press this key, the screen will show some other controls such as Home, Siri . You can even choose to add or remove actions by using the Customize Top Level Menu option inside the section. AssistiveTouch installation.
6. Use the Home key to speed up the computer or restart
Hold down the power key until the words Slide to power off appear, then press and hold the Home key will help speed up your device by releasing RAM.
For cases where your device is frozen while running the application and you cannot turn it off by normal means. Press the Power key and Home key combination. Immediately the device will restart for you (note that this is not available for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7S)
