The breakdown of the S1H branch connecting to the Internet from Vietnam to Hong Kong on the AAG sea cable has been repaired since September 5 and is expected to be completed on September 11th. .
On August 23, 2018, the AAG sea cable line broke down S1H branch, causing the Internet connection from Vietnam to be affected. And today (September 7), the AAG Cable Operations Center informs Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Vietnam of the progress of fixing and fixing this problem.
The breakdown of the S1H branch connecting to the Internet from Vietnam to Hong Kong on the AAG sea cable has been repaired since September 5 and is expected to be completed on September 11th. .
Specifically, the first weld to overcome this problem was made today, on September 7, 2018 and is expected to complete the final weld in the morning of September 10. And on September 11, 2018, the cable burying will be completed and the repair work will be finished.
Thus, according to this new plan, the AAG cable route will be interrupted for another 4 days and the total time for AAG interruption is 20 days from the incident on August 23, 2018.
The AAG marine fiber optic cable has a problem, the Vietnam Internet has gone international
At 14:30 on August 23, 2018, the AAG international optical cable route continued to suffer from the impact of the quality of Internet connections from Vietnam. This is the fourth time this marine fiber optic cable has crashed in 2018.
From the afternoon of August 23, 2018, some Internet users in Vietnam have reflected on the slow access to international web pages, which are difficult to use Facebook and Gmail services.
A representative of an Internet service provider (ISP) in Vietnam has confirmed that the AAG international fiber optic cable has a problem. However, at present, ISPs in Vietnam have not received specific notice of the AAG cable operation center about this incident so they still cannot determine the cause of the incident as well as the position position cable error.
The AAG international marine optical cable route, 20,191 km long, is the first cable to directly connect Southeast Asia with the US. AAG uses optical wavelength grafting technology (DWDM) and has a design capacity of up to 2 Terabit / sec.
This marine fiber optic cable has been put into operation since 2009, the cable branch turns into Vietnam with a length of 314km, a landing point in Vung Tau.
APG marine fiber optic breakdown earlier this year

Previously, on January 6, APG sea cable route was also interrupted due to relocation of cables for the expansion of Singapore-Changi Airport.
In the last year, APG sea cable has had 2 incidents in turn on June 20 and December 23, 2017.
