Dubbed " ghost bay ", or " dead sea ", this bay is a " grave " of hundreds of boats and aircraft. It used to "swallow" a naval fleet to the bottom of the water during World War II. And now, " ghost bay" contains strange mysteries no one can explain.
" Ghost Bay " is a bay located in the center of the Pacific Ocean, 1,800 km from New Guinea to the northeast called Truk (Chuuk) .
Submerged remains at the bottom of "ghost bay" Truk.
"Dead sea" "burial" hundreds of ships and aircraft
In the early 1940s, Truk Bay was the largest military base in the area of the Royal Japanese Army . This base was used by Japan to attack Allied forces in the southern Pacific Ocean.
On February 17, 1944, nine aircraft carriers along with dozens of US-led warships and 500 aircraft attacked the base. 250 Japanese aircraft were completely destroyed, 50 large ships were sunk. It is estimated that about 400 Japanese soldiers were killed immediately. This is the most fierce attack in World War II history.
Due to the geographical features, Truk Bay is surrounded by huge coral reefs, so the boats, aircraft, are preserved almost perfectly from the impact of the ocean outside after 72 years of " rest" . Even here, there are still human remains on the deck and the bombs that have not been silently lying in the clear blue water.
The car bodies, airplanes and boats were nearly intact at the bottom of Truk Bay.
The mystery revolves around "ghost bay" nobody can explain
More than 7 decades ago, the fierce war caused Truk to become a terrifying "dead sea". But today, the sea is considered "ghost bay" when there are strange and mysterious sounds that make people frightened.
The divers, upon arriving in Truk Bay, discovered that they heard a series of very strange sounds such as the sound of turning on, off, the sound of the engine running on the body of a Japanese ship . Those sounds are very clear, no hearing aids are needed.
They were sure they were emitted from the bodies of the ships because when the sound appeared, there was no boat operation at the bay.
Divers discover Truk Bay.
The steering wheel of a Japanese ship sank at ghost bay.
The sound of moaning and the murky scene of death like a wild cemetery made anyone dive into " ghost bay " scare.
Because of the inexplicable mysteries, Truk Bay now becomes one of the places attracting the attention of divers and scientists.
