The leading university in India will teach the science and architecture subject which is 8000 years old
The Indian Institute of Science (IIT) - Kharagpur is about to introduce a long-standing discipline of architectural science called Vastu Shastra.
From August this year, architecture students at Kharagpur - the school that Google's CEO Sundar Pichai had attended, will be taking a course in ancient Indian architecture science called Vastu Shastra.
Kharagpur Academy makes vastu shastra one of its subjects.
Researchers believe that Vastu Shastra was born and developed in the period from 6000 - 3000 BC. Characteristics of this type of architecture is to make the most of geographical location and topography and other natural factors such as sunlight, temperature, wind direction, moon position and Earth's magnetic field.
Vastu Shastra possesses features similar to China's feng shui perspective, mainly focusing on the harmony of human life with the surrounding environment.
Many ancient temples of India as well as other buildings have been built on the principles of Vastu Shastra combined with the characteristics of architecture derived from Rig Veda - a collection of Sanskrit hymns. Ancient.
Vastu Shastra has many similarities with Chinese feng shui.
Joy Sen, Head of the Department of Management and Infrastructure Design Ranbir and Chitra Gupta in Kharagpur, said: ' With the advent of green technology, green lifestyles and affordable environmental materials, more and more People towards a lifestyle close to nature. Thanks to that, Vastu Ahastra was also made more popular. It can be said that vastu is a science that uses the correlation between ecology, passive energy and humans as well as other species . '
Kharagpur Academy has decided to include this subject in the reorientation of the next semester curriculum. In the immediate future, they will integrate Vatsu Shastra with two existing modules in their undergraduate and graduate systems. Specifically, the most basic concepts will be taught to students studying at IIT. And the postgraduate program will focus on exploring in-depth details such as the principles of solar power, the types of sacred diagrams, the design structure of hieroglyphs and semantics.
Last week, in a lecture, Sen gave an interesting example of this type of architecture: ' In the past, households used to design a yard in the middle of their block. In addition, they have built many different bedrooms specifically for winter and summer. All these things are calculated according to the principles of nature '.
