The new HP ProBook still uses a luxurious but slim and lighter aluminum case.

The world's leading computer manufacturer today unveiled the new ProBook line for 2013. The company changed its design to 18% lighter and 36% thinner than the previous generation. However, HP retains the familiar aluminum shell and gray to emphasize the user segment in small and medium businesses. The ProBook Seri 400 includes 430, 440, 455 and 470 models corresponding to 13.3-inch, 14-inch, 15.6-inch and 17-inch screens.

Except for the 430 version that will be sold in July with Intel Haswell processors, the remaining models will all use Ivy Bridge processors. Two models of 14 and 15 inch screens will have additional options for AMD Richland processor.

HP ProBook 430, 440 and 455 will have anti-glare screens with a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels and no touch while the 17-inch screen version will be 1,600 x 900 pixels. The machines have the option of removable optical drive, if not used, the machine will be significantly lighter.

Models with large screens such as 440, 450 and 470 have a choice of 6-cell or 9-cell batteries. Particularly, version 430 will have the choice of high-end SSD to speed up operation.

The new HP ProBook is priced from $ 499.
