The command nslookup set recurse
Requires a Domain Name System (DNS) server to query other servers without information.
Syntax of command nslookup set recurse
set [no] recurse

Set the number of retries.
Syntax nslookup command set retry

Specify a new value for the number of retries. The default number of retries is 4.

When a reply is not received for a request within a certain time period, the waiting period will be doubled and the request is resent.Retry value controls the number of times the request is resubmitted before cancellation.You can change the timeout period with the child set timeout command .
Nslookup command set root
(Applies to Windows Server (Semi-Annual Channel), Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012).
Change the name of the original server used for queries.
Syntax l command nslookup set root

Nslookup set search command
Append Domain Name System (DNS) domains in the DNS name search list on request until the answer is received.This applies when the installation and lookup requirements contain at least one cycle, but do not end with a slash.

Stop adding Domain Name System (DNS) domains in the required DNS domain search list.
search
Append Domain Name System (DNS) domain names in the DNS domain name search list to the request until the answer is received. The default syntax is search.

Change the default Domain Name System (DNS) domain and search list.
Syntax command nslookup set srchlist

Describe
Specify a new name for the default DNS domain name and search list. The default domain value is based on the host name. You can specify up to six names, separated by a slash (/).

Nslookup command comment set srchlist
The set srchlist subroutine will override the default DNS domain name and the search list of the domain set command. Use the set all command to display the list.
The following example sets the DNS domain name to mfg.widgets.com and the search list into three names as follows:
set srchlist = mfg.widgets.com/mrp2.widgets.com/ widgets.com
Nslookup command set timeout
(Applies to Windows Server (Semi-Annual Channel), Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012).
Change the number of first seconds to wait for a response to a search request.
Syntax command nslookup set timeout
set timeout =
Nslookup command parameter set timeout

Describe
Specify the number of seconds to wait for a reply.The default number of seconds to wait is 5.

Nslookup command comment set timeout
When a request response is not received within the specified time period, the waiting time is doubled and the request is resubmitted.You can use the set retry command to control the number of retries .
The following example sets the wait time to receive a response in 2 seconds:

Specify to use or not to use virtual circuits when sending requests to the server.

Parameters
Describe
novc
Specify never to use virtual circuits when sending requests to the server. Default is novc .
vc
Specify to always use virtual circuits when sending requests to the server.
