(Applies to Windows Server (Semi-Annual Channel), Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012).
Change the default Domain Name System (DNS) domain name to the specified name.
Syntax of nslookup set domain
set domain =
The nslookup set domain command parameter

Specify a new name for the default DNS domain name.The default domain name is the host name (host name).

Note nslookup set domain command
The default DNS domain name appended to a lookup request depends on the status of the defname and search options . The DNS domain search list will contain the source of the default DNS domain if it has at least two components in its name. For example, if the default DNS domain is mfg.widgets.com, the search list is named mfg.widgets.com and widgets.com. Use the srchlist set command to specify a different list and set all commands to display the list.
Nslookup command set port
Change the default Domain Name System's TCP / UDP port to the specified value.
