At the IFA trade fair that is taking place in Berlin, Germany, Samsung has demonstrated the promised X360 laptop to be the most formidable rival of Apple's MacBook Air.

X360 has a 13.3-inch screen - the same size as the MacBook Air laptop, but Samsung's product weighs only 1.27 kg. The screen of the device has LED backlit lights of 1280 x 800 pixels. In order to achieve incredible fragility, Samsung has to choose a slightly "lightweight" configuration with the slower Core 2 Duo processor and power saving. Laptop has a battery life of 6-10 hours continuously.

It is worth mentioning that although very fragile - the thinnest part is only 2.5 cm and the thickest part is 3 cm - but X360 is still equipped with the omitted features in MacBook Air laptops, such as Ethernet ports, ExpressCard / 34 and multi-format reader memory card. In addition, the laptop also has 3 USB ports, HDMI, VGA out and even fingerprint reader. X360 also supports Wi-Fi wireless connection. Samsung promises to be available to the market by the end of this year to support 3G and WiMAX connectivity. Unfortunately, the device does not have an integrated optical drive.

Like the Lenovo ThinkPad X301 series, Samsung X360 has the option of using a solid-state SSD drive. Price of 64GB version will be 2,213 USD; and $ 2,951 with 128 GB version.

Samsung will launch this new laptop market in October.
