Rem command in Windows

The rem command helps write comments (comments) in a batch file or CONFIG.SYS.

The rem command helps write comments (comments) in a batch file or CONFIG.SYS. If no comment is specified, the rem command adds a vertical space.For a better understanding of how to use this command, see the example section below.

Specify a character string to attach comments.

Remarks command rem

  1. The rem command will not display comments on the screen. You must use the echo command in your batch file, or CONFIG.SYS to display the annotations on the screen.
  2. You cannot use navigation characters () or (|) in a batch file comment.
  3. Although you can use the rem command without annotations to add vertical spaces to the batch file, you can also use blank lines.The blank lines will be ignored when the batch file is processed.

Example rem command

The following example shows a batch file using comments for comments and vertical spacing:

 @echo off 
rem tập tin chương trình này khác nhau và kiểm tra các đĩa mới.
rem It is named Checknew.bat.
rem
rem echo Insert new disk in Drive B.
pause
format b: / v chkdsk b:

To attach annotations before the prompt in your CONFIG.SYS file, add the following lines to CONFIG.SYS:
