Fish rain is one of the strange natural phenomena that occurs in some places on Earth. However, only the Honduran town of Yoro is where a strange fish rain occurs every year, sometimes several times. And so far, scientists have not found an explanation.

The town of Yoro is located in the north of Honduras (a country in Central America, bordering the Caribbean Sea, famous for its mysterious phenomenon called "Lluvia de Peces" - literal rains of fish.

From the 1800s until now, the Lluvia de Peces fish rain often takes place in Yoro after a very strong storm that occurs between May and June. The strangest thing about this fish rain is that no one has actually seen it. fish fall from the sky even though it happens every year. But there is evidence of the Lluvia de Peces fish rain in the form of photos and videos of hundreds of fish covering entire areas after strong storms.

According to local people, the fish rain here is associated with a legend. Sometime in the 1850s or 60s, Spanish missionary priest Jose Manuel Subirana visited the area and saw firsthand the poverty of the local people. So he prayed for three days and three nights asking God to provide food for them. One day, the sky turned dark and fish fell from the sky and this phenomenon became known as Lluvia de Peces. Since then, miracles have happened every year.

In 1970, a group of scientists happened to be in Yoro during Lluvia de Peces when it rained fish. They saw with their own eyes that the ground was covered with fish even though they did not see fish falling from the sky. But the strange thing is that the fish are blind and do not belong to the species that live in the rivers in the area.

Therefore, scientists have hypothesized that these fish live in underground rivers or caves, where lack of light makes them blind. Severe storms cause flooding, causing fish to drift into the city. When the water receded, they were 'stuck' in the town.

There is also an opinion that storms accompanied by strong whirlwinds carry fish from the sea or nearby lakes and drop them on the road, creating a fish rain.

Many theories have been put forward, but to date, Lluvia de Peces is still an unsolved mystery. The people of Yoro absolutely love this strange phenomenon because it attracts more tourists from all over the world to visit this town every year.
